Virtual Recess! Kids Hang Out Sessions by Grade

What a year this has been! We are hosting a series of kids hang out sessions on Zoom where grade level peers can join together in conversation, fun & supervised "recess" within a virtual setting.

There is no agenda or theme to these hang out sessions. Each week, our PTSA volunteer, Leta Hamilton, will start the Zoom call & welcome kids to the hang out session. She will then stay on the call to steer conversation if needed, but this is a student led time together.

Kids will have 45 minutes to talk with one another, share what movies they have recently watched, their favorite TV shows, a video game they love & anything else that comes up.

These Virtual Recess! Kids Hang Out Sessions are an opportunity for kids to hang out with their peers in a safe, non-academic environment. The priorities are relationship building & connection. Most of all, we want them to have FUN!

In order to receive the Zoom link, you need to register. Otherwise, there is nothing to do but show up on your grade level's date & time.

All Virtual Recess! Kids Hang Out Sessions by Grade will be held on Wednesdays from 1:30-2:15pm

April 21 - Second Grade

Mead PTSA is so excited to be celebrating International Night virtually this year! Please sign up here on our sign-up genius to represent your culture or country. We have listed the countries that were scheduled to participate last year. If your country is not listed, please list it under "Other" or email [email protected]

Families can share parts of their heritage through different media. For example, a video of how to cook a favorite traditional dish, a Powerpoint or video poster of a country's most interesting facts, a collage of artifacts/scenes from a trip, or audio recordings of traditional music, an art project representing the country, or even a recorded dance. Get creative! If you know what you would like to share, please list it in the comment section by the country.
