As our 2021-2022 school year comes to an end, I wanted to thank each one of you for making another unique year such a success. Our kids managed to adapt to so many variables and our Mead teachers and staff made sure academic learning continued successfully. Your Mead PTSA worked behind the scenes to support our school and our PTSA mission of ensuring a safe, healthy, and inclusive learning environment that provides an enjoyable and positive school experience.
With the help of our fabulous Mead staff, PTSA Board and volunteers, we managed to carry out many of our regular events (and even some new ones) like the Spelling Bee, Ice Cream Social, Mead Stampede Walk-a-Thon, BINGO night, Gingerbread house decorating, and of course most recently, the Spring Community Gathering event and STEM night. It was wonderful to finally see so many smiling faces! Also, for the second year in a row, we created the Mead Yearbook that I hope your kids will enjoy.
Because of our generous Mead community, we were able to provide nearly $20,000 to teachers for class funds and stipends, over $7000 in grants for the school, and almost $9000 in reading and math support programs for students. In addition, based on our community-wide survey results, the PTSA invested our surplus funds of nearly $33,000 on additional playground equipment, a new sand pit, Gaga Ball, new outdoor tables for the playground, and $10,000 for our library. These investments will enrich our students for years to come.
It has been an honor to lead our wonderful Mead PTSA for the last two years and an absolute pleasure working together to support our families, students, and incredible Mead community.
Have a wonderful Summer!
