WHAT IS REFLECTIONS? Reflections is an annual arts recognition program sponsored by the National PTA. It is designed to provide an opportunity for students to use their creative talents by expressing themselves through their own original works. Make sure to read all the rules for your category. Any piece submitted that does not follow the rules will be disqualified.

This is a student-created original project. Parents or teachers can't help students.

Visual Arts 2D

Please note that Visual Arts-3D art is NOT being accepted by LWPTSA Council; only 2D entries are allowed. Examples of 3D: architecture, carpentry, ceramics, jewelry, kites, dioramas, mobiles, etc.

Divisions

There are three divisions at our local level. The Special Artist Division are for those students who have a disability in K-5. Click on Special Artist for more details.

How to Enter

Each submission must have a Student Entry Form. Fill out the form here.

Deadline: Friday November 3rd 2023

How to Submit

2D Visual Arts: Please turn in your entries into the Reflections box at the Mead reception area. Make sure your name is written on the back of your entry.

Photography, Literature, Film, Music, and Dance: Email your file containing your entry to [email protected].

If the file is too large to email, submit the file in a thumb drive in the Reflections box. Student name should be on the drive.

Awards and Recognition

School winners will be announced during the week of November 17th 2023. All school-level winners will move on to the district-level competition. These students will be awarded with a Ribbon and a Certificate.

All participants will receive a medal and a participation certificate.

Theme Search Contest

The search is on for a future theme for National PTA’s Reflections program! Students are invited to share their ideas by November 1, 2023, for a theme that will spark fun and creativity during the 2025–2026 Reflections arts contest.
 
Washington students at schools with an active PTA/PTSA may submit their theme ideas (with parent/guardian authorization). The Washington State PTA Programs Committee will select a top 5 to submit to National PTA. The top 5 will be announced in November after the submission deadline.
 
The student whose entry is chosen as the winner will receive a $100 prize from National PTA, and the winning theme will be announced at the 2024 National PTA Convention!

How To Enter                                                                                        
Students should complete and submit the application by noon PDT on November 1, 2023.
Past themes and duplicate submissions will not be considered.
