Your PTSA Sustainability Team will be working hard this year to help the school community to become more sustainable. What does that mean?

Sustainability is working with the environment to improve our ecological balance by avoiding depletion of natural resources. Sustainable practices include waste reduction, composting any waste food, swapping supplies to include recycled products or switching to products that are packaged with recyclable materials, water conservation and using greener cleaning practices.

During this strange time we will communicate through the Timberline Times. So look out for tips and tricks for reducing waste, conserving water and more information on the King County Green Schools Initiative.

Your current challenge: Complete a home recycling audit. Do you recycle everything you can? What fills your trash up the most and can you change that product so that you have less going in the trash?

To help our with this challenge, here is Waste Management's recycle guidehttps://www.wm.com/us/en/recycle-right/recycling-101
